Nutraceutical & Functional Food Business Delegation, China 2025
The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is offering up to six emerging New Zealand nutraceutical and functional food ingredient business leaders the opportunity to join a funded delegation to China in December 2025.
This delegation will give participants valuable exposure to one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets for nutraceuticals and functional foods, with a strong focus on business-to-business engagement.
Delegates will attend one of Asia’s largest nutraceutical and functional food expos in Shenzhen (Healthplex, 16–18 December) and take part in a wider programme of business and cultural visits across eastern and southern China.
China is home to the world’s largest consumer market for health and wellness, with demand shaped by both younger generations and the growing ‘silver economy’. Around 94 percent of Chinese Millennials and Gen Z prioritise wellness in their decision-making, creating demand for products that fuse science, health, and food. For New Zealand businesses, this presents opportunities to leverage our strengths in agribusiness, science, and biotechnology to access high-value markets.
The Nutraceutical Business Delegation programme is designed to provide participants with insights into the Chinese business environment, build relevant connections with Chinese and Asian business leaders, and explore collaboration and market access opportunities.
Tentative dates for this programme are 10–18 December 2025 (travel inclusive). Dates will be confirmed closer to the time.
Applications close 5pm, Monday 6 October 2025
