Published4.12.2025

Six New Zealand business leaders from the Nutraceutical & Functional Food industry are heading to China for a multi-stop delegation aimed at boosting their knowledge of China’s health and wellness sector and growing connections into Asia.

The Foundation-led delegation is based around a leading international trade show for natural health and nutrition products, Healthplex, which will showcase more than 2,500 innovative health and wellness products and bring together over than 150,000 people from the global sector.

The seven-day trip will provide the New Zealand delegates opportunities to connect and share ideas with their Chinese counterparts. The group will take part in networking functions, roundtables on consumer trends as well as site visits to New Zealand and Chinese companies that have successfully established themselves in China’s health market.

China is home to the world’s largest consumer market for health and wellness, with Innova Market Insights finding 63 percent of people in China follow personalised nutrition plans - creating a rising demand for tailored health products.

Delegation member and PharmaNZ Brands Partner Hayley-Jean Rahman says she is looking forward to showcasing New Zealand products to a Chinese market.

"PharmaNZ is excited to participate in the Asia New Zealand Foundation's China delegation, to showcase NZ's capabilities in dietary supplement formulating and manufacturings,” she says.
