The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono and UrbanPiper are pleased to announce the 2026 People and Culture Internship at UrbanPiper in Bengaluru, India. The internship focuses on the human resources business partner (HRBP) function, exploring the intersection between human resources and business strategy. It is primarily intended for MBA and postgraduate students in human resources, business administration, psychology, or related fields. However, high-achieving third- and fourth-year undergraduate students with a strong academic record and a positive attitude will also be considered.

The internship is scheduled for three months commencing in November 2026, with specific the dates to be settled after the selection process.

The purpose of the Foundation's internship programme is to provide New Zealand tertiary students with an experience of working in a business environment in Asia to gain a better understanding of the people, place and culture of the host country.

Intern flourishes in humming Ho Chi Minh City

A three-month internship in Vietnam’s largest metropolis, Ho Chi Minh City, gave Asia New Zealand Foundation intern Duncan Mutch a crash course in local culture and working life, as well as a springboard into the professional world. A graduate of the University of Canterbury Business School, Duncan interned in the Complex Transactions Group at professional services firm KPMG Vietnam, where he gained insight into how business is conducted in the Southeast Asian context and applied his university studies in practice. This year, Duncan will take up a graduate position with KPMG in Wellington. In this article, he reflects on his experiences in Vietnam, both in the office and while exploring the city and beyond.

Next generation of Indian agribusiness leaders coming to New Zealand

Ten high-calibre entrepreneurs and business leaders will visit New Zealand in June to learn about the agribusiness ecosystem here and connect with their New Zealand counterparts. India is one of New Zealand's most significant and fast-growing economic partners — and the Foundation's NZ India Entrepreneurship Initiative (NZIEI) looks to help strengthen this relationship though business-to-business exchange.
