The Foundation collaborated with Future Learning Solutions – Centre for Languages, to develop teaching resources for Chinese language programmes for both primary and secondary sectors (Years 1-13).
This resource includes a matrix guide showing curriculum progress descriptors of student achievement in listening, reading, speaking, writing, presenting and viewing for all levels of the New Zealand Curriculum.
Two comprehensive unit plans have been created following a progressive task-based thematic approach to language teaching with engaging and interactive learning activities:
- The primary unit is based around a shopping theme for curriculum levels 1-4.
- The secondary unit explores a Chinese New Year theme for curriculum levels 1-8.
