Nurul Shamsul



Nurul Shamsul is Malaysian and Indonesian who grew up in rural Waikato, New Zealand.

She has her Master of Public Policy from the University of Auckland. She was one of the first hijabi in the world to place in the Top 5 for Miss Universe New Zealand in 2018. Nurul has been a guest speaker all around the world talking about leadership, diversity and sustainability. Previously as a work broker with the Ministry of Social Development, she was helping with the Cyclone Gabrielle recovery for the Coromandel Peninsula area. She is currently based in Pōneke and works as an accreditation assessor with Te Kāhui Kāhu.
