Mr Guillermo M. Luz

Asia Honorary Adviser, Philippines



Mr Guillermo M. Luz is an associate director of the Ayala Corporation, one of the biggest business conglomerates in the Philippines. Mr Luz has been chief resilience officer and advisor of Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) since December 2013.

PDRF is the country's major private sector coordinator for disaster risk reduction management. Mr Luz has been a member (alternate) of APEC Business Advisory Council since December 2012. He is also chairman of Liveable Cities Challenge project.

Up until June 2018, Mr Luz was the private sector co-chairman of the Philippines National Competitiveness Council (NCC) – a public-private sector body tasked to develop a strategy for the long-term competitiveness of the Philippines through policy reforms, project implementation, institution-building, and performance monitoring.

Mr Luz was executive director (from 1987-2006) of the Makati Business Club, one of the most influential business associations in the Philippines engaged in advocacy, information services, publishing, and investment promotion. Mr Luz graduated with a BA Social Sciences degree from Ateneo de Manila University.
