Kyle Murdoch



Kyle Murdoch is a chief executive, company director and producer with 20 years of experience working in the media industry in Asia.

Murdoch worked for Star TV and News Corp in Beijing before establishing NHNZ Ltd.’s Beijing Office in 2010. He returned to NZ in 2012 and was managing director and chief executive of NHNZ Ltd from 2013 – 2020.

Murdoch works closely with Chinese State Broadcaster CCTV and Japan’s NHK, as well as Alibaba’s Youku, Tencent, IQIYI, SMG, Discovery Asia, Disney and National Geographic Asia.

Murdoch executive produced the Emmy nominated impact documentary Saving Africa’s Giant with Yao Ming for Wildaid, Discovery and CCTV, which directly helped influence changes in legislation around Ivory importation in China and Jackie Chan’s Green Heroes for National Geographic, which championed local environmental actions in China.

He was also executive In charge of production for Orangutan Jungle School for NHK, Channel 4 and Love Nature, a series that helped raise awareness about impact on habitat destruction in Indonesia.

Under Murdoch’s leadership, NHNZ received the NZ China Trade Association Business Award for outstanding contribution to the NZ China business relationship in 2015 as well as the Supreme Business Award at the 2016 Westpac Business awards.

In 2021 Murdoch founded Nature Film and continues to produce impact and nature inspired content for the Asia Pacific region.
