The New Zealand India Entrepreneurship Initiative fosters stronger business connections between New Zealand and India through reciprocal entrepreneurial exchanges.
India is one of New Zealand's most significant and fastest-growing economic partners, with two-way total trade of NZ$3.95 billion annually (year ended December 2025). The New Zealand–India FTA, signed on 27 April 2026, provides zero-duty access for Indian exports to New Zealand and phased tariff reductions for New Zealand exports to India, aiming to boost trade, investment, and strategic cooperation.
By bringing Indian entrepreneurs to New Zealand and leading New Zealand delegations to India, the programme enables participants to connect with industry leaders, exchange knowledge and identify commercial opportunities.
By fostering trusted, long-term relationships, NZIEI helps participants lay the foundations for lasting commercial partnerships and provides New Zealand businesses with valuable insights into India's rapidly evolving economy.
