Linda Tame
Tēnā koutou katoa. Ko Lofty te Maunga, ko Murray te Awa, ko Adelaide ahau, ko Adelaide oku tipuna, ko Aorere tōku kāinga noho ināianei, ko Linda Tame tōku ingoa.
Linda's work background is as a secondary school principal of three schools spanning over 20 years, and she is currently the principal of Golden Bay High School and co-lead of Kāhui Ako ki Mohua.
Linda is passionate about empowering rangatahi to have the skills and attitudes to thrive when they leave school - the Golden Bay High School vision is "inspiring passionate, world ready rangatahi". One important aspect of this is being able to relate to and work with people from different backgrounds.
As there are very few Asian people in her school's community, Linda says her students have little understanding of Asian cultures, values, language, geography and histories, despite how important Asia is to Aotearoa New Zealand.
Linda sees working with the Foundation and being a Champion as an ideal opportunity to support her school and community to inspire her students.
