John Watson

John is the Head of Physics at the large, culturally-diverse Burnside High School in Christchurch.

John's interest in Asia began with a three-month trip to Hong Kong and China in 1991, and was reinforced by subsequent visits to China, Japan and Southeast Asia. 

John hopes being part of this opportunity will help raise his awareness of scientific advances and opportunities across Asia to highlight to his students the importance of the region to New Zealand, and on a personal level enable him to relate more to the cultures and experiences of the Asian students in his classes.
