Corin Armstead

Corin is a teacher at Arahoe School, which is a large primary school in the suburb of New Lynn, Waitakere City in Auckland. 

Arahoe School has a strong Asian language learning programme, with both Korean and Mandarin being taught from Years 3 - 6. Over 200 children are currently studying one or both of the languages at the school. Corin personally teaches Year 3 and 4 children Korean, while also learning the language herself.

Corin wanted to become a Champion to network with other schools and educators to find new ways to develop her school programme and ways to develop pathways for tamariki from primary school to high school. Corin says tamariki love learning about different cultures and learning to speak a new language.
