Education Champions
Amanda Kirkham
Until may 2023, Amanda was a teacher of humanities and a within-school teacher at Nayland College in Nelson. She has since left the school and will taking up a position at the International School of Amsterdam.
Her specialisation is in global citizenship education in the secondary-school sector.
Amanda has taught previously in the UK, Nepal (Kathmandu), and India (Bangalore and Hyderabad), both as a volunteer teacher and in international schools.
She enjoys the idea of working in a collaborative network with other educators with a focus on Asia. Amanda says being part of the Champions Programme will be a great opportunity for educators to not only grow their own knowledge and understanding of Asia – but also to support other educators to do the same.
