Vivien Whyte

Vivien is in her third year of a Bachelors of Science/Music. She describes her Chinese-Indonesian-Samoan-Pākehā heritage as an integral part of her leadership journey and keen interest in reconnecting with Asia and Chinese language.

She has a special interest in the visibility and celebration of the creative pan-asian community in Aotearoa.

Vivien is a passionate feminist and gender equity advocate. She is the 2022 National Coordinator of Thursdays in Black, and the 2021 AUSA Women’s Rights Officer. She’s passionate about youth empowerment and serving the community, and as such is a leader within UN Youth and a Waitematā Local Board Good Citizen’s Award winner.
