Sidney Wong

Sidney Gig-Jan Wong (he/any) was born in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai (Lower Hutt). He has familial links to Hong Kong, Macau, and Southern China.

Sydney now lives in Ōtautahi with his partner and advocates for and supports LGBTQIA+ communities across Aotearoa through his role as chair of the Ethnic Rainbow Alliance and Qtopia.

He hopes to combine his lived experience to foster relationships between Aotearoa and Asia. Sidney is currently working towards a PhD in Linguistics.
