Shahin Najak


Shahin Najak is a Indian-Kiwi, born in the UK, raised in Tāmaki Makaurau and is now based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

Shanin is a policy advisor with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in the trade and international team. Her work focuses on standards and conformance and technical barriers to trade.

She is an Ismaili Muslim and is completing her MSc in Sustainable Development following her undergrad in economics, environmental and biological science.

Shahin is on the board for the Multiethnic Young Leaders Network (MYLN) as well as being on the membership committee. She is a member of the Wellington Global Shapers network and the former special advisor to the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO.

Shahin is focused on increasing diversity and inclusion for people of colour and raising awareness for grass-root climate action response.
