Mikhael Sayat

Mikhael Sayat is a PhD candidate in physics at the University of Auckland. His research is in space-based quantum communications with the grand goal of a global quantum network.

With a deep love and passion for space, Mikhael has held research scholarship positions and worked in Poland, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore, developing a variety of technologies for space. Notably, Mikhael was a recipient of the prestigious New Zealand Space Scholarship to intern at NASA JPL.

In 2020 Mikhael undertook an Asia New Zealand Foundation internship with Thai space agency Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). In his spare time, Mikhael enjoys climbing and learning from different cultures during his travels.
