Emma Campbell

Emma is a PhD candidate in history at the University of Cambridge. Her research examines the creation of official history in post-colonial Singapore and its impact on the formation of national identity and nation-building.

Prior to beginning her degree at Cambridge, Emma completed her MA, BA(Hons) and LLB degrees at the University of Otago and worked as a tutor for undergraduate papers and as a research assistant in the university’s History Programme.

She has a long-standing interest in Asia and particularly Southeast Asian history, stemming from her past and present studies and from visiting the region.
