Chris Henderson

Chris Henderson is currently an education consultant at UNICEF, and previously worked at the University of Waikato as Associate Director of Te Whai Toi Tangata. In this space, Chris has worked internationally for the World Bank and United Nations agencies and is a member of the New York-based Teachers in Crisis Contexts Collaborative.

Chris has taken part in a number of opportunities provided by the Leadership Network, including attending a social innovation hui and the offshore hui to South India in 2018. Chris has always looked for ways to give back to the network and was chair of the network’s Advisory Board for 2017/18.

On his experience in South India, Chris says, “Overall, this was a hugely enriching experience. More so than expected. I learned as much about my own leadership and professional goals as I did about South India. And I think this is the beauty of experiences like this; it’s the connections we make with others on the delegation and those we engage with across all walks of life that challenge us, inspire us, and uplift us to do more and do it better”.

In 2020, Chris was awarded a doctoral fellowship to study in the United States at Columbia University.
