The 2019 programme

The programme runs from 21 April to 12 May. It explores the theme of migration and public sentiment. The combined study and dialogue programme will enable participants to better understand how economic, political, social and cultural concerns are influencing public sentiment and fostering support for nativist policies and populist politicians.

Grant details

The Asia New Zealand Foundation will cover most travel and programme-related costs for the successful New Zealand participant. The estimated value of this grant is NZ$13,000.

The participant – and preferably their newsroom – will need to pay the US$800 programming fee (about NZ$1185) and  all applicable visa fees, any additional visa-related expenses, health insurance and any baggage fees.
