Leah Bell is a historian, researcher, and advocate from Waitomo, Aotearoa.
At fifteen, she co-led the “Rā Maumahara” campaign, establishing a statutory day of remembrance for the New Zealand Wars and shaping the Aotearoa New Zealand Histories curriculum. She serves as ambassador for Te Pūtake o Te Riri.
Leah’s research contributed to Tauhokohoko’s Indigenous trade policy framework, deepening her connection to Asia after presenting at an international Indigenous trade conference in Hualien, Taiwan.
A musician and arts advocate, she supports emerging artists, recently organising ‘Rhythms of Resistance: A Night for Palestine’ to fundraise for the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.
