Heather Campbell



Heather Campbell is the Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children New Zealand, a role she began in March 2025.

Since relocating to Aotearoa New Zealand, she has taken a leadership role across the children’s and international development sectors and serves as deputy chair of the Council for International Development.

Under her leadership, Save the Children New Zealand’s portfolio has grown to more than $35 million, including a major multi-year project in Cambodia and a national emergency preparedness programme for early childhood centres.

Heather has over 20 years’ experience leading humanitarian and development programmes globally. She previously served as Save the Children’s Asia Deputy Regional Director and as Country Director in Nepal, Bhutan, and Sierra Leone, advancing localisation, climate adaptation, child protection, and high-level advocacy.

Heather holds an MA in Humanitarian Assistance from Uppsala University and a BA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
