Fine Lavoni Koloamatangi (Kolofo’ou and Kolomotu’a)



Fine Lavoni Koloamatangi (Kolofo’ou and Kolomotu’a) is of Tongan descent and was born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau.

A doctoral candidate in Art History at the University of Auckland, her thesis looks at the connections between K-Pop and Pacific peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Throughout her studies, she has taken on Graduate Teaching Assistant, Tuākana mentor, Schools Outreach and Visitor Coordinator roles.

Recently, Fine Lavoni has been carrying out research projects alongside two good friends she reconnected with in the Leadership Network. She currently works as a Library Assistant at Leys Institute Little Library in Ponsonby, and also helps to run a local online community of K-Pop fans
