Fahri Agam



Raised in Karori and of Indonesian whakapapa, Fahri Agam is a solicitor dedicated to public and international law.

Fahri has experience across legislation, policy, and cross-border legal issues, advising on international adoptions, child protection, anti-trafficking, and bilateral frameworks, with a strong grounding in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and humanitarian law.

His central kaupapa is protecting the rights and wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi.

Fahri has long supported vulnerable communities, assisting his whānau in running an orphanage in Jakarta.

He co-founded the National Islamic Youth Association and the Asian Legal Network and served as President of the Asian Law Students’ Association at Victoria University.

He was awarded the Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia and the He Whenua Taurikura Scholarship—New Zealand’s Centre of Research Excellence on Preventing Violent Extremism—and completed his Master’s thesis (with Distinction) which evaluated the safety of Muslim communities in New Zealand following March 15th.
