Asia internships to expand young New Zealanders' career opportunities

Nine New Zealand university students and recent graduates will be gaining frontline business experience in Asia's fastest-growing economies.

These three-month internships immerse young New Zealanders in leading companies across China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea — from global consulting firms to cutting-edge tech startups.

Participants gain professional experience while developing an understanding of regional business practices and cultural contexts.

Some interns have already started their roles, with remaining placements beginning over the coming months.

"These internships give young New Zealanders hands-on experience in Asia's major economies," says Nick Siu, director business and entrepreneurship at the Foundation.

“They provide an opportunity for them to work alongside professionals in dynamic Asian markets while building networks that will benefit both their careers and New Zealand's regional connections.”
