Shalini Guleria
Hamilton
Born in India and raised in New Zealand, Shalini is currently pursuing a PhD at Olivia Newton John Cancer Research Institute in Melbourne.
Her project focuses on understanding the genetics of the most aggressive form of breast cancer to develop precision medication to treat this disease.
Shalini’s passion lies in scientific research and promoting science and engineering amongst young children.
To this end she founded social enterprise Science Box to bring back the magic of science to young Kiwis.
Shalini was recently awarded the Hamilton Civic Award for Service to Education, becoming the youngest person to receive this award
