Nina hails from the bustling streets of Manila, where her passion for social justice and sustainability is rooted. Describing Filipinos as a ‘minority within a minority’, Nina is driven to boost Filipino representation in Aotearoa.
Nina is a Law and Arts student at the University of Auckland where she ran the inaugural Civics portfolio of the Filipino Students’ Association. She is also one of New Zealand’s youngest public servants working with the Ministry for the Environment.
Nina has been involved with BLAKE, New Zealand Youth Parliament, the Ministry of Youth Development, UN Youth and Equal Justice Project. She is also a member of the Asia New Zealand Foundation’s Leadership Network.
