Survey results reinforce need to boost Asia literacy in schools
Most New Zealand secondary students recognise the importance of Asia, but don't feel able to confidently engage with the region, our Asia Aware Students' Survey has found.
Students see Asia as important to New Zealand's future (74 percent) and, of all the regions in the world, think Asia will have the most influence on New Zealand’s trade and demography.
However, more than half of the year 12 and 13 students surveyed feel they lack the knowledge and understanding to engage confidently with Asian peoples and their cultures.
