Case study: Owairaka District School

In another case study in our series on schools around New Zealand, educators at the Auckland primary school discuss efforts to foster Asia awareness. Principal Diana Tregoweth introduces the motivations behind creating an Asia Aware school.

"One of the first things we did was to develop a race relations day each year. On this day children come along in costumes representing the range of cultures in the school. They and their parents prepare and share many different kinds of food," she explains.
