Arts and community grants

Our arts and community grants support projects by New Zealand-based individuals and organisations that help to educate Kiwis about Asian arts and culture.

Visitors at Sam Rawlings' exhibition of paintingsProjects we have supported range from work placements for New Zealand artists in Asia, to grants to help local government and arts organisations to include Asian components in community events.

The next round of grants closes in July.

Eligibility

Art grants are available to:

  • arts and cultural institutions
  • New Zealand-based arts professionals
  • local and regional councils
  • festival and event organisers
  • individuals who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

The grants cover professional development, such as self-arranged residencies, as well as community events or projects supported by local government.

Note: We are no longer able to support community projects that primarily benefit the applicant community. Community-based projects must demonstrate support by local government or arts institutions.

If you are unsure about your eligibility to apply, please email culture@asianz.org.nz.
