About the Asian Civilisations Museum

The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) presents a broad yet integrated perspective of pan-Asian cultures and civilisations. As one of the National Museums of Singapore under the National Heritage Board, they aim to promote a better appreciation of the rich cultures that make up Singapore's multi-ethnic society.

The ACM also manages The Peranakan Museum (TPM), which explores the culture of Peranakan communities in the former Straits Settlements of Singapore, Malacca and Penang and their links with other communities in Southeast Asia.

The ACM offers youth a window to the exciting and diverse cultures of Asia through its innovative displays, and provides youth with a platform for discussions on identity and society.

The education team at the museums not only engages schools in curriculum-based museum experiences, but also designs in-gallery and outreach interactives for visitors of all ages. The team creates tours and workshops that go beyond traditional subjects, such as history, that most museums are perceived to cater to.

The team has conceptualised the ExplorAsia zones in the ACM and designed the children’s interactives in TPM. These interactives have enhanced the museum experience for visitors of all ages.
