NZTE is currently running a series of two-day courses around New Zealand from October 25 2011. The courses will cover:

  • how the government and business operates in China
  • how to navigate language barriers and cultural differences
  • how to build and maintain business relationships
  • how to work within Chinese legal, financial and management structures.

        Contains a comprehensive guide to New Zealand and Chinese agencies, offering information on doing business in China and providing tips for exporters.

        Invest in China

          The Investment Promotion Agency of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce offers information on investment opportunities and a FAQs section about investing in China.

          Industry support and networking organisations

          New Zealand China Trade Association

            A business networking site that publishes a round-up of China business news and analysis in its online newsletter China Now.

            China Council for the Promotion of International Trade

              The council's site offers information about doing business in China, including details of regulations and tariffs and a listing of trade fairs in Chinese cities.

              Kea China Chapter Website

                Kea assists in helping leverage the knowledge and contacts of talented New Zealanders around the world.

                Other useful websites

                The New Zealand database was created by the University of Auckland Library in conjunction with the New Zealand Asia Institute. It a freely available resource for researchers focusing on business information and engagement between New Zealand and Asia.

                    This section of the council's site provides a guide to doing business in China. This includes information on setting up an enterprise in China, import-export procedures, foreign exchange control, taxation, human resources and intellectual property issues.
