Galeri Petronas, Kuala Lumpur

The Galeri Petronas Artist in Residence programme caters to both traditional and contemporary artistic practices. An important aspect of the programme is the inclusion of crafts such as kite-making, batik and songket weaving, and wood carving.  At least two residencies are offered per year, with the main objective of the programme being to encourage two-way dialogue and communication between artists and the general public to promote awareness and appreciation of various artistic practices.  In most instances, a residency will be for three months. A studio space is created within Galeri Petronas for the use of the resident artist.
