Japanese musical puppetry and workshop
Event details
Date:01 Jan 1970 to 01 Jan 1970
Venue:Rudolf Steiner School, Raphael House, Eurythmy Room - 27 Matuhi Street, Tirohanga, Lower Hutt
Location:Visiting Japanese puppeteers Darumamori and Eriko, performing at the Japan Festival of Wellington, will conduct a workshop followed by a performance of the puppet show "As the night of the Karikari Desert goes on" - an event organised by the Embassy of Japan.
In the desert called Karikari, on a night with a ‘cat-nail’ shaped moon, curious incidents involving funny creatures and items occur. Darumamori tells stories of a two-humped camel lost in the desert, a snake ball, a mermaid in an oasis, a shining moon drum and a shadow merchant that will draw you into his creative wonderland with the mysterious sounds of harp and enchanting music. A therapeutic of show music, puppetry and storytelling like you have never experienced before!
Workshop: 3.30pm - 5.45pm (30 people limit)
Puppet show: 6.30pm - 7.30pm (150 people limit)
