By 2038, almost one in three Aucklanders will be of Asian descent. In contrast, there has been a decline in Asian language learning in secondary schools. Are languages important? If so, how can we ensure they thrive in our increasingly culturally-diverse city?

Join us for this Asia After Five panel discussion led by Asia New Zealand Foundation Education Director, Jeff Johnstone with members of the Auckland Languages Strategy working group:

  • Susan Warren - Chief Executive, COMET Auckland
  • Morgan Patterson - Pathway Manager, International Languages Exchanges and Pathways (ILEP)

We are happy for you to invite a colleague or friend to this event.

For catering purposes, please ensure they are registered.

Please also note that you will need to enter DLA Piper Tower before 6pm because the elevators shut after that time.

Asia After Five is a social networking event hosted by the Asia New Zealand Foundation.

Mix and mingle over drinks and nibbles, hear stories from inspiring individuals and get a taste of the many strands of the New Zealand-Asia relationship.
