Leadership Network Agribusiness Hui

The Foundation is offering up to 10 places for Leadership Network members to attend the Agribusiness Hui in Raglan on Saturday 16 June 2018.

This is an opportunity for members to connect with those interested in this space and to learn more about the sector.

The application period for this opportunity has now closed.

The event will leverage off Fieldays, New Zealand’s largest agricultural event held in Hamilton from 13-16 June and the presence of a delegation of Southeast Asian agribusiness entrepreneurs in New Zealand through the ASEAN Young Business Leaders Initiative.

The event will focus on building connections and team building, a panel session on agribusiness both in New Zealand and Asia, and a session on the Individual Leadership Pathway.

Participants will fly into Hamilton on Friday 15 June where they will also take part in an interactive session on agribusiness in Southeast Asia led by Leadership Network members currently involved in farming in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. At this point, this scheduled to be a site visit to Spring Sheep New Zealand, a multi-award winning New Zealand agribusiness. Participants will then travel to the hui, which will take place over the course of Saturday 16 June.

Participants are not expected to be experts on agribusiness. Preference will be given to members in Hamilton already attending Fieldays.

All costs associated with attending the Agribusiness Hui (return [seat only] travel, meals, planned activities, accommodation) will be met by the Asia New Zealand Foundation.

Participants will be responsible for getting to and from their local airport, and any other personal spending money.

Selection criteria

Up to 10 places are available for network members based in New Zealand. Offshore members will be considered, although the Foundation will only meet the equivalent cost of an internal New Zealand flight. We will not reimburse people for flights already booked.

As places and funding for the Agribusiness Hui are limited, a selection process will take place. Preference will be given to network members who:

  • can demonstrate a genuine interest in learning about agribusiness
  • are connected and engaged in the network and with the Foundation
  • are attending Fieldays
  • can demonstrate how this activity fits in your Individual Leadership Pathway assessment of growth.
