We commission social, economic and education research to encourage public debate and help policy-makers make informed decisions about New Zealand’s engagement with Asia.
We publish reports on how Asia is changing New Zealand and why it matters. These reports look at our changing population in our major cities and our small towns.
Since 1997, we have also surveyed New Zealanders’ perceptions of Asia and Asian peoples. This helps media, researchers and policy makers understand and respond to how New Zealanders act and think about Asian issues.
We also feature podcast interviews and host roundtable discussions with leading international thinkers on the big issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Through our opinion pieces, academics and journalists offer their views on why New Zealand should pay attention to contemporary issues in Asia.
