Steve Trotter

Steve Trotter teaches at Rototuna High Junior School. With two brothers and four nieces and nephews living in Japan, Steve has had a strong connection to the country for over 20 years.

He says while technology continues to break down language and location barriers with Asia, it will never fully replicate first-hand understanding of culture and values. "The importance of New Zealand students understanding the similarities and differences between societies is, therefore, more important now than ever before," he says.
