Peter Fowler

Peter is deputy principal at Cobham Intermediate in Christchurch. He has an ongoing interest in Asia, having spent a significant proportion of his teaching life working with students from the region here in New Zealand and in Australia. He has visited a number of countries in Asia for professional and recreational travel purposes and is always amazed at the vibrancy and variety of Asian culture.

In 2018 he travelled to China as a Confucius Institute-sponsored member of a Christchurch delegation of school leaders. He says, "This wonderful opportunity to spend time with educators from New Zealand and China was a learning experience I will never forget."

He hopes that by being a Champion he can help the teachers and students at Cobham, and the wider Waimairi-iri Kahui Ako, develop a deeper understanding of Asia, its people and culture.
