Uyen is the business development manager at Viet Trang, a leading artisanal and sustainable handicraft company.
Viet Trang’s mission is to empower local women and disadvantaged groups, protect natural resources and preserve traditional craftmanship through the creation of high-quality and sustainable handicraft products made with natural fibers.
In October 2018, Uyen travelled alongside seven other leading Southeast Asian sustainability entrepreneurs to New Zealand.
During the their time here, the group visited Auckland, Queenstown and Christchurch where they met with local businesses working to sustainable models and networked with local entrepreneurs.
“The trip to New Zealand under the ASEAN Young Business Leaders Initiative took me one big step further on my journey of social entrepreneurship and sustainable development," she says.
"It got me thinking deeper about why we need to think seriously about environmental issues and live more sustainably”
