megatrend series
In 2004 Asia:NZ began commissioning the 'megatrends' series. The initial reports have provided quantitative forecasts for the Asian region in demographics and a range of 'trade/business' related measures such as trade flows, economic growth and investment.
Of course, predictions, even when based on the most rigorous analysis, can be proved wrong over time due to unforeseen events. However, in examining the forecasts presented in the 'megatrends' series it pays to look beyond the specific numbers and instead focus on the general trends and potential scenarios. In this way it is hoped that the 'megatrends' series can help to strategically prepare New Zealand for the new Asia.
