The APEC Study Center at the City University of Hong Kong was established in 1997 at the request of the Hong Kong Government in response to the APEC Leaders Meetings in 1994. Presently, the Center is under the Faculty of Business at City University of Hong Kong. The mission of the APEC Study Center in individual economies is to pursue the following objectives:-to promote research in APEC-related subjects-to educate students on APEC-related subjects and encourage their interests in APEC-to disseminate their study results and information to the public
