Chinese Lantern Festival - Schools programme

Each year hundreds of school lanterns on display delight the crowds who admire the skill and effort of the students who made them and often want to purchase the students’ artworks. Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite lantern and judges determine age category winners.

The schools lantern-making competition has always been very popular both in Auckland and Christchurch. Every year hundreds of visitors fill in a ballot paper with their individual preferences for a winning lantern.
