Getting involved

The Business Education Partnership (BEP) initiative offers a number of ways for schools and businesses to get involved. You can tailor your approach based on your needs and capacity.

How can a business be involved?

A Comvita worker talking to Bay of Plenty heads of departmentNew Zealand businesses connected to Asia will have staff, knowledge and resources that can be shared within the organisation and with secondary schools to help develop Asia ready students and employees.

As part of BEP, these businesses are invited to:

  • offer Asia-ready training and development for staff
  • give presentations about their business to New Zealand principals/teachers/students visiting Asia
  • provide or be interviewed for a business case study for use in schools
  • develop an individual partnership with a secondary school.

Schools are invited to:

  • Develop an individual partnership with a New Zealand business
  • Offer business studies as a course and integrate Asian themes and contexts into the course
  • Apply to participate in the BEP heads of department delegation to Shanghai
  • Attend Asia:NZ’s business forums, seminars and workshops in New Zealand
  • Attend Asia:NZ’s networking events to link with New Zealand businesses.

I’m interested. What’s next?

  • If you are a business, the first step is to sign the BEP declaration.
  • If you are a secondary school, the first step is to contact us, as we can help link you with a business.
