Alex Smith
Senior Advisor (Research)
Alex has a Master of Arts in East Asian Regional Studies from Columbia University and a BA (hons) from Victoria University. She has studied Mandarin Chinese in Shanghai and Taiwan.
Passionate about making Asia issues engaging and accessible for an English-speaking audience, her writing has appeared in publications such as New-York-based The China Project, The Spinoff, and on the Foundation’s Asia Media Centre.
Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked as a senior analyst at the Treasury and the Ministry of Primary Industries.
