Final Patron's Dinner for Governor-General
The Asia New Zealand Foundation held its prestigious Patron’s Dinner at Government House recently.
The illustrious event was hosted by patron His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand, Governor-General of New Zealand for the last time.
Asia:NZ has been privileged to have a very productive association with Sir Satyanand for well over a decade. He served as a board trustee and deputy chairman before becoming patron as the Governor General in 2006. He is a tireless and enthusiastic supporter of the organisation and his advocacy will be sorely missed.
The annual patron’s dinner is a celebration of the contributions made by people from a wide spectrum of society in fulfilling the Foundation’s mission of building New Zealanders’ knowledge and understanding of Asia.
Invitees from the diverse programmes supported by the Foundation included those from the arts and cultural sector, business leaders, school principals and teachers, academics and researchers, journalists, and members of the Young Leaders Network.
Seventeen years after the establishment of Asia:NZ, New Zealand’s links with the countries and peoples of Asia continue to grow, and our projects and networks become more far-reaching.
