Lantern Festival in Schools
The Asia:NZ Lantern Festival is a great opportunity to include ‘Asia’ in your classroom studies and participating in the lantern-making competition is a fun way for students to experience, first hand, a tradition associated with Chinese New Year
festivities.
To support you, we have several Chinese Lantern Festival units on our Educating for Asia website . Written for teachers with activities and background info and linked to the New Zealand Social Studies, The Arts and Technology curricula. Instructions for making lanterns are included.
