amazing chinese performance hits cockle bay - by greer bonnette

Cockle Bay Primary School
On Monday the 25 February the lucky year 4's, 5's and 6's at Cockle Bay Primary went to the school hall to see amazing Chinese Performance.
They waited patiently looking at the red drums with gold dragons on. Then suddenly a lady came out and said ''Welcome everyone this afternoon you will hear and see some breath taking things''. Cockle Bay students had made lanterns for the Lantern Festival and so they came to Cockle Bay for free. The first item was to do with the drums and cymbals. Everyone was so surprised it was extra loud and it sounded a lot like rain. The brilliant performers had come all the way from China! They did a few more powerful items as well.
Next up was the tea pourers you could tell by everybody's face that they were very puzzled. The lady then explained that ''The tea pots had about a metre long spout''. First up a girl did it. She must have been very flexible. It was simply perfect everyone clapped and clapped.
Then a boy performed some more. Both of them didn't spill a drop! The drummers then did another great performance. In their navy and red costume they looked very neat with their hair done up in a bun.
Next was the Shaolin Kung Fu. First they did some really fantastic movements. They had bright orange costumes that looked very effective. They were amazingly flexible, then out of the blue came a man cracking a rope. They had practised for 10-15 years.
That wonderful day was a great way to start off the school year. It was also a great experience for me as well as, the best performance ever!!
